Emergency Maintenance Personnel 

Crystal Meadows is a federally funded 79-unit complex, providing housing for individuals aged 62 or older and people with disabilities.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Be kind, patient and respectful of our independent tenants.  Individual will be in direct contact with elderly and disabled individuals that may be unable to communicate easily or correctly and who may become overly upset in a situation.

• On call for resident and maintenance emergencies at night and on weekends promptly

• Weekend days on call within 15 min of property

• Nights on call between 7PM and 7AM within 15 min of property

• Ability to wake up and respond to emergency calls without hesitation. 

• Ability to remain calm, take prescribed measures to calm the situation and contact emergency responder/police department as needed.  

• Communicate clearly and responsibly to the police department, fire department, alarm company and residents.

• Understand alarm system function and disbarment for unit alarm and corresponding communication panels.

• Understanding of property mechanical room locations and water and electrical shutoff procedures.

• Understanding of Crystal Meadows Rules and Regulations to report and/or address tenant violations.

• Physically able to walk rapidly and calmly.  Ability to lift 50 pounds.

• Weekend walkthrough of Mechanical Rooms throughout property

• Report mechanical emergencies immediately to day maintenance contract personnel and Diana Baetz or once the system is shut down if needed.

• Annual review for contract renewal

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

This responsibility is for the safety of the property and the independent residents who live at Crystal Meadows.  To ensure there is an individual available at night and on weekends to promptly respond to emergencies on the property. To provide a calm and comforting presence in any emergency and ensure the proper authorities or help are called in a timely fashion to address issues.
